BAKED CARAMEL POPCORN |
Ingredients for Baked Caramel Popcorn
* 1 C. butter or margarine
* 2 C. firmly packed brown sugar
* 1/2 C. light or dark corn syrup
* 1 tsp. salt
* 1/2 tsp. baking soda
* 1 tsp. vanilla extract
* 6 qt. popped popcorn, unsalted
How to Cook Baked Caramel Popcorn
1. Melt butter.
2. Stir butter in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt.
3. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
4. Boil without stirring for 5 minutes.
5. Remove from heat.
6. Stir in baking soda and vanilla extract.
7. Gradually pour over popped corn, mixing well.
8. Turn into 2 large shallow baking pans.
9. Bake at 250ºF for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
10. Remove from oven and wait to cool completely.
11. Break apart. Makes about 5 quarts.
